Glasgow, Montana (MT)       a perspective of this old railroad town...

An old railroad town Glasgow was established in the late 1880's, and received its name from the famed Glasgow, Scotland.  It was an active little town during the 1930's construction of the Fort Peck Dam Powerhouse and Spillway.  The town grew in size during that time...

As the county seat of Valley County, it is the commercial center of the area.  Valley County's name origin is from its namesake the region's Milk River Valley which was the sight of an influx of homesteaders in the early 1900's.  As do most of the northeast Montana towns, Glasgow has a rich homesteader and cowboy history...

The Valley County Pioneer Museum has fossils, Indian artifacts, railroad and wildlife collection displays.

Camping, food and lodging facilities are available.
