Poplar, Montana (MT)    a perspective  of this tribal town...

At the confluence of the Poplar and Missouri Rivers, Poplar was named Poplar because of the stands of poplar trees in the area.

This town is the focal point of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation having the tribal offices of the Assiniboine and Sioux tribes.  As you arrive in Poplar, visit the tribal facilities that are available.

The Poplar Museum and Tribal Museum feature tribal history and artifacts.  The Native Americans of Poplar have many celebrations during the year, but the Iron Ring Celebration and the "Wadopanan-Last of the True Powwows" are the most notable.
